In 1983, Henry Lee Lucas was arrested in Texas for unlawful possession of a firearm. While in custody, he confessed to hundreds of murders committed in dozens of states with a partner, Ottis Toole, earning him the nickname “The Confession Killer.” Despite many of these confessions proving to be false, his story captured the public consciousness, inspiring the 1986 film Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. It's our Exorcist Halloween Special! In the Spring of 1949, a 14-year-old boy began exhibiting signs of demonic possession after the death of his aunt. Following a harrowing exorcism, the boy, known only as Roland Doe, was cured. Local news stories about the exorcism caught the eye of William Peter Blatty, inspiring his 1971 novel “The Exorcist”.
